. . . "Surely I am coming quickly." Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus! (Rev 22:20)
Sometimes unraveling Biblical prophecy can be difficult. When is the Lord coming? Has prophecy been fulfilled for the Lord to come? Will the Church go through the tribulation? I hope the following time-line will be helpful when we ask, “what happens next?” in Bible prophesy:
1) THE RAPTURE - (1 Thes. 4:1617) For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. 17 Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And thus we shall always be with the Lord. (See also John 14:1-3; 1 Cor. 15:51-52)
2) THE SEVEN-YEAR TRIBULATION - (Mat 24:21) "For then there will be great tribulation, such as has not been since the beginning of the world until this time, no, nor ever shall be. (See also Luke 21; Rev. 6-19)
3) THE SECOND COMING - (Rev 19:11) Now I saw heaven opened, and behold, a white horse. And He who sat on him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness He judges and makes war. (See also Mat. 24:27-31)
4) THE THOUSAND-YEAR MILLENNIUM - (Rev 20:4) . . . And they lived and reigned with Christ for a thousand years. (See also Isaiah 11; 35; 66)
5) THE ETERNAL STATE - (Rev 22:5) There shall be no night there: They need no lamp nor light of the sun, for the Lord God gives them light. And they shall reign forever and ever. (See Rev. 21-22)
What are we looking for next? We are looking for Jesus to come in the Rapture to take us home to heaven. All prophecy has been fulfilled for the Rapture to take place. We will not go through the Tribulation because we won’t be here. Let’s get excited . . . let’s be ready . . . and let’s tell the world Jesus is coming soon!
