FOREVER YOUNG

(Psa 103:5) Who satisfies your mouth with good things, So that your youth is renewed like the eagle's.

God is so good. The devil is bad. Satan is at times allowed to buffet us and beat us and we can get weary of holding our hands up in the boxing ring. But God is still so good and He helps us win the victory in the trials and tribulations that we go through. We feel weak because of the battle but then our youth is renewed like the eagles. The eagle remains strong throughout its long life and David is saying that as God is delivering us from our troubles we become full of energy and are able to soar above the storm. Praise be to God! Youth is not wasted on the young. The way God works things out in our lives is beautiful because He is good and works all things together for good. (Rom 8:28)

Yeah, we can get discouraged in this “rat-race”. But to the Christian it isn’t a rat-race. It’s a race that is “set before us” (Heb 12:1). Sure we get weary, but with Jesus we can get fired up because He is our strength. Some older folks kid about being a “recycled teenager” but we can be youthful in Jesus as we wait upon Him and lean on His power, wisdom, and capabilities. He is God and He is Almighty (all-mighty) and fills our tank up when we’re running low. He’s able to turn that “sigh” into a “high” as Satan is told to “bye-bye”.

An eagle, huh? I like that. Let’s do some wingin’ and a singin’ this week and enjoy being a Christian because we know the power of the Spirit who is the wind beneath our wings.

(Isa 40:31) But those who wait on the LORD Shall renew their strength; They shall mount up with wings like eagles, They shall run and not be weary, They shall walk and not faint.
