(Isa 42:16) I will bring the blind by a way they did not know; I will lead them in paths they have not known. I will make darkness light before them, And crooked places straight. These things I will do for them, And not forsake them.
Life is full of uncertainties. You never know just how things are going to turn out. You can sit around and plan ABC but little do you know it’s going to turn out XYZ. You plan your best but life can take you places you never thought you’d ever go. That troubles a lot of people. And why is that? It’s because we all cherish the feeling of security. We all like to know where we’re going. It gives us a sense of safety and assurance. But like the ole saying, “Life happens when you’re busy making plans.”
When you have the Lord in your life, you enter a dimension of blessed peace beyond belief (Isa 26:3). You realize He has all things under control and you know that whatever happens is not fate but fact. The fact is that God loves you and has promised a future and a hope to you (Jer 29:11). You might not know what tomorrow will bring, but you do know that whatever road you will be led to take you will have the light of heaven upon it. You will also live with the confidence that even if the path turns crooked and you can’t figure out where you are, it doesn’t matter. You’re not lost. The Lord doesn’t give you a compass, He gives you His Word to stand upon. God will never forsake us. He never takes a vacation from us or what concerns us. He’s always working out the better plan.
Don’t let the unknown bully you into feeling like an insecure kindergartner on the first day of school. You didn’t make life and you can’t control it and it will go on when you are gone. But there is One who has been around a long time and He wants you to live life with a sense of adventure in the jungle of the unknown. Will you put your trust in Him today? If you’re a believer then that’s what your supposed to do . . . believe! In the midst of all the uncertainties of life, just believe that God is making no mistake as He leads you into the larger arena of His goodness!
