WINTER IS OVER!

My beloved spoke, and said to me: "Rise up, my love, my fair one, And come away. 11 For lo, the winter is past, The rain is over and gone. 12 The flowers appear on the earth; The time of singing has come, And the voice of the turtledove Is heard in our land. 13 The fig tree puts forth her green figs, And the vines with the tender grapes Give a good smell. Rise up, my love, my fair one, And come away! (Song 2:10-13)

Winter is over and spring is here! I love the warmer weather. It makes me feel upbeat. During winter I’ve always got all the lights on in the house trying to simulate the sunshine. But now those cloudy days are over and I’m lapping up the light. I’ve also been eyeing my surfboard out in the garage. Pretty soon!

Those winters of the soul. We all go through them. Those long and icy seasons of life where there’s no sun in sight. Dark and dreary, restless and weary. Gray and dull, numb in the skull. How long until the sun shines through? How long, O LORD? Will You forget me forever? How long will You hide Your face from me? (Psa 13:1)

When there is no end in sight I need a promise of light. It’s Jesus only. When nothing else is shining, He is! "I, Jesus, . . . am the Root and the Offspring of David, the Bright and Morning Star." (Rev 22:16)

Whoa, did you see that? Look up there. See that ray of light? The winter is past and spring is here. Hallelujah! Rise up He says. My love He calls me. I am beautiful to Him. He wants me to come away with Him. Let’s go, Lord. You are good and you’ve been good. You brought me through. The sun feels good and things are blooming in my life. Ahhhh. . . Jesus I love You!
