SCRIPTURE MEMORY (Part II)

Last time we studied the benefits of memorizing scripture and found out there are many reasons to hide God’s Word in our hearts. This week I want to share with you a tried and proven way to memorize Bible verses and then offer you some scriptures to commit to memory. Are you ready?

What’s the best way to memorize scripture? Find a scripture that interests you and write it down on a 3 x 5 card, post it, or whatever works best for you. Memorize the reference first. Then memorize the verse phrase by phrase. Nail down the first phrase before you go onto the second. Then add on the second phrase to the first. Keep adding phrases. Guess what? You just memorized a verse! Now go for a second. You’re doing great!! Keep a catalog of memory verses and review them every now and then for reinforcement. Get a friend to quiz you and make it fun.

Here are some verses to memorize. I’ve arranged them topically. Pick out a few or memorize them all. Next time I see you feel free to impress me. (3 John 1:4) I have no greater joy than to hear that my children walk in truth.
