(Pro 4:26) Ponder the path of your feet . . .
Do you ever feel like you want to be somewhere else, but you feel stuck in the dismal present? You feel done with where you’re at and need to move on to a more exciting future? You don’t want to get stuck in a rut and feel you were made for something on a grander plane? Do you feel like if you don’t move on you’re literally going to go crazy? Then you have a bad case of itchy feet!
What is it that all of a sudden comes over us? We were doing fine. Life was great, and the people were great. But then this massive wave of discontentment came crashing into our lives. Instantly we were bored with life. Everything became the same old, same old. Life became gray and the people in our lives weren’t exciting anymore. Something inside us said there has to be more than this. You felt boxed in, cramped, unchallenged. The grass started looking greener. Your theme song became “Somewhere Over the Rainbow” but you wished it was “On the Road Again.” Spring fever they call it? How about just a bad case of itchy feet!
What do you do during those most frustrating times when everything within you screams to move on? Do what the Word says and ponder the path of your feet. Here are some scriptures to help you to do just that:
(Pro 27:20) . . . the eyes of man are never satisfied.
(1 Tim 6:6) Now godliness with contentment is great gain.
(Psa 27:14) Wait on the LORD; Be of good courage, And He shall strengthen your heart; Wait, I say, on the LORD!
(Eccl 3:11) He has made everything beautiful in its time . . .
Now, don’t you worry that life is going to pass you by. God’s got a plan that’s going to rock your world! (Hab 1:5) So settle down. Humble yourself. Dig in. And use your feet to spread God’s love to people right around you. (Eph 6:15) and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace.
I pray the Word of God will be the very thing to cure your case of itchy feet!
