(Gen 25:22) . . . why am I like this?" . . .
Have you ever tried to figure yourself out? Do you ever ask yourself why you act in a certain way? Do you wish you had a better read on yourself, so you could be more assured as well as relate better to people?
Rebekah was barren. Isaac prayed to the Lord for his wife and she conceived. But she sensed that something just wasn’t right inside her womb. So, she took her concerns to the Lord and the Lord told her she was having twins. So that’s why she was feeling so odd. The twins (Esau and Jacob) were struggling within her. No wonder! Now she felt better about things.
Sometimes we experience feelings and emotions that we just can’t figure out. This is when we need God’s psychology. God knows all about us and through prayer we can resolve personal issues and concerns that affect us emotionally.
God comprehends everything about us. (Psa 139:1-3) O LORD, You have searched me and known me. 2 You know my sitting down and my rising up; You understand my thought afar off. 3 You comprehend my path and my lying down, And are acquainted with all my ways.
And because He knows all about us He can counsel us. (Isa 9:6) And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
You don’t have to figure yourself out or anybody else out for that matter. But when something bothers you, when you are struggling inside, you can be like Rebekah and just give it to the Lord. The Lord will speak to your heart and give you the wisdom and insight you need. Until then just trust in the Lord and keep yourself from your own psychological assessment. Who is smart enough to understand the intricacies and complexities of the human mind anyway? (Pro 3:5-8)
God made you with your own personality and disposition. We’re not like anybody else. So, enjoy who you are and relax into you own skin. You’re perfect just the way you are (Song 4:7) The Lord has you and your life all figured out. So, let God do the thinking for you. Just enjoy His love and the leading of the Holy Spirit in your life and the benefits of God’s psychology!
